Article #2 Little Box Of Ideas

The site Little Box of Ideas is owned and run by Sneh Roy, who is great graphic designer. The site contains her portfolio, but what actually glues me to the site are her articles. There are hundreds of articles on web design, logo design, etc. and I can spend hours surfing it. I go back to the site regularly to explore it more and here are two articles I ejoyed today:

  • 15 Fresh Logo Design Processes That Teach Volumes. This article is just amazing. It has a collection of various logo design processes and they're all very inspirational. Its nice to get a look into a designer's mind and how they come up with their ideas. My personal favourites where the Sponsr and and the Envision green logo.
  • 25 Free Brilliant Fonts For Logo Design. Not only do we get to look at these super cool fonts, but also links have been provided so that you can download them. Enjoy ^^
    So, that's it for now. I have exams coming and I have a report to write plus a CV for a mock interview for my effective communication class. And study.
    Damn.

Art Feature on online magazine!!

OMG, I can't believe it!! Rick DeCost, CEO, publisher and editor of the online magazine: Absent Willow Review sent me a mail a few weeks back on my deviantart account asking me permission for featuring my work: Bloody Moon. I had agreed, but when I didn't get a reply, I thought oh, chuck it but then, I got a reply today saying that it has been added. I'm so happy!! You can see it on the main page in the "Featured Art" section when you scroll down a bit or you can see it on the Artwork page.
*can't stop smiling*

Article #1 Sliding Labels

The monthly newsletter from Smashing Magazine featured "Sliding Labels" dynamic CSS tool. Its very neat if you want the labels, ie. the field names like name, age etc. to slide out of the input box. It makes the form more fun and attractive to use. The demo is available online. It is a tool made by CSS Karma, which belongs to Tim Wright, who is, I quote "a Web designer, developer, speaker and writer". He has some awesome codes and a whole lot of resources related to CSS. You can see his portfolio and his "lab" and you can find very cool projects like the CSS calendar, CSS Shelves and Circles etc. Its the site to visit if you want fancy and dynamic CSS.

New Layout!

That's right!! And new content too!! I finally decided what I want this site to be about. I'll posting a lot of different things. I'm also planning to move to Drupal or Radiant Ruby CMS rather than Cutenews, because I got a lot of spam comments on that one >.> Also Wordpress annoys me with all the complicated stuff.
This layout is actually temporary. I have to figure which CMS I like most, because Cutenews was actually very easy to use, you could just keep your own layout and use Cutenews to add comments. Seeing how popular Wordpress is, I though I should try and make a layout on that and see how it works out. Till then, this remains. All your comments will have to go on the tagboard ^^;;
Also, I plan to have a nice gallery for my artwork so I'll start working on that. But the only problem is, that my exams will be coming up soon so I'll get very busy. Looks like D,P is going to remain a bit dull for a while.
Tim Burton ftw.
Yeah.
